Before the EcoFest 2019, the guests were asked to bring samples of soil from their homeland. A number of guests responded to this offer – the organizers received about 90 soil samples from all corners of the Earth. Today, we'll tell you what happened to them next.

The received samples were sent to the GreenWay Soil Bank. It is a meadow in a forested area that has never been used for agriculture. Here, the most numerous and effective associations of agronomically valuable microorganisms are identified from the obtained fertile soil.

These associations of microorganisms are tested on plants: grains, vegetables, medicinal herbs, fruit trees and others. Germination, seed germination rate, the speed of growing plants on biomass, crop resistance to disease and lack of nutrients are measured. All this is necessary to test the effect of the selected groups of microorganisms on plants and to choose among them the most valuable, persistent and reproducible.

The products grown in this way are tested for taste. The chemical composition of all parts of the plants is studied in order to obtain comprehensive information and select the UniTerra humus constituents. As a result of the studies, it has already been concluded that the effective concentrations of humus when applied to the soil are less than 1%.

Subsequently, UniTerra humus will be used to grow various crops, such as vegetables, grains, fodder, oilseed, essential oil, technical, medicinal, floral, fruit and berry crops. The optimal concentration of humus for each crop will be selected in the laboratory, taking into account different parameters: e.g. crop yield, plant root development, etc.
